What Organization schema unlocks
Organization schema is the foundation for Google's understanding of your brand. It feeds the Knowledge Panel (the box on the right side of Google search when you search a company name), helps disambiguate your brand from similarly named ones, and supports E-E-A-T (Expertise, Authority, Trust).
Logo requirements
- Minimum 112×112 pixels.
- Logo image must be accessible to Google (not blocked in robots.txt).
- Format: PNG, JPG, or WebP. SVG is supported but less commonly used.
- Square or wider aspect ratio. Vertical logos may be cropped.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I put Organization schema?
On your homepage. One per site is enough. Optionally on About and Contact pages too.
Will this give me a Knowledge Panel?
It helps but does not guarantee. Knowledge Panels require Google to recognize your brand as notable. Schema is one of many signals.
Should I use Organization or LocalBusiness?
LocalBusiness if you have a physical location customers visit. Organization for online-only brands or larger companies with multiple locations.
What about Wikipedia and Wikidata?
Both significantly help. Adding wikipedia and wikidata URLs to sameAs is one of the strongest brand signals you can give Google.
Can I use Organization for a personal brand?
Person schema is better for individuals. Use Organization for businesses, brands, and non-profits.
