How Product schema increases sales

Google can show product rich results: thumbnail, name, price, star rating, "In stock" label. These visual elements increase click-through significantly compared to plain text results. Shopping searches that match your schema may also feed Google Shopping listings.

Rich result requirements

Frequently asked questions

Will Product schema put me in Google Shopping?

Not automatically. Shopping requires Google Merchant Center. But schema makes your product eligible for Shopping rich results in regular search.

Do I need real reviews to use aggregateRating?

Yes. Google requires that the ratings exist visibly on the page. Fake ratings violate policy and can lead to manual penalties.

Can I leave price out?

Yes. Without price, the rich card is less complete but still works. Use this for "Price varies" or "Custom quote" products.

What is SKU and do I need it?

Stock Keeping Unit, your internal product code. Not required for schema but helps disambiguate variants.

What about variants (sizes, colors)?

Use one Product per variant, or one Product with offers as an array. The simpler approach is one page per primary product.
